The Rafael's Restaurant (formerly Bar Rafael) is located just outside of Cala Millor on Avenida Badilla de Llevant.
It was opened in 1957 by Sen. Rafael Jorda Manresa and is therefore the oldest bar in Cala Millor. In 1994, Heinz Hubert Plum, also known as Rafael, and his wife Vivien took over the Bar Rafael and made it what it is today.

Entering the restaurant, the spacious exterior restoration with the rustic brick counter immediately catches the eye.
One has the impression of sitting in an overgrown garden under meter-high palm trees, lined with hibiscus and oleander.
A unique ambience, only the passing cars on the main street bring you back to reality. Here there are shady spots without Parasol.
Is this Weather sometimes not so good, a spacious heated veranda and a small but fine bar with a fireplace invite you to linger.

The concept of the "Bar Rafael" - Spanish specialties, barbecue and good German cuisine
Bar Rafael is a mixture of bar and restaurant. Under the old manager Rafael, the focus was on local specialties and dishes from the charcoal grill.
In October 2018, the former operators of the "Mini Mini Bar" Jochen and Nicole took over the Bar Rafael and are now trying to combine the charm of the Bar Rafael, the legacy of Heinz Hubert Plum and the cuisine of the "Mini Mini".
The local specialties have remained on the menu, such as bread with allioli, tapas, ham and cheese platters, as well as the famous pa am boli.
Added to this is Nicole's good German cuisine, with a variety of dishes, such as homemade beef roulade, pork schnitzel, or a cabbage roulade and herring fillet.
Not to forget meat aspic from the Spreewald with Spreewald gherkins, after all Jochen and Nicole come from the Berlin area.
The good selection of drinks has also remained. With food there is a well-chilled, freshly tapped Spanish beer, or a German Krombacher.
The sangria is still one of the best in Mallorca. The selection of wines is also impressive.
Our personal opinion:
We have the Bar Rafael visited many times. It's a bit outside of the tourist mile and looks a bit unassuming from the outside, but it's definitely worth the walk.
The flair and the atmosphere in the oldest gastronomy of Cala Millor is unique. Anyone who has been to Cala Millor should have been there once.
We know Nicole's good cuisine from the mini mini and that hasn't changed.
Still commendable. But the Spanish specialties are not to be scoffed at either and are of high quality. the Sangria is unparalleled. For this reason alone, you should always visit Bar Rafael on foot.
Another highlight are the potato pancakes with applesauce, which are offered every Sunday in winter. You have to try it once.
In the summer months, the focus will again be on the barbecue and the well-known grill specialties will be offered from the swivel grill. Incidentally, high chairs are provided for the little guests.
